But it also involves spills. And so should your ambition outstrip your skills and you do crash, The Proframe RS Full Face MTB Helmet (Lunar) has been created to keep your head protected.
And so how does it protect? Well, it's a combination of technologies. The core of the Proframe is a combination of EPS and EPP liners. In the event of an impact to the head, be it fast or slow speeds, these layers soak up and dissipate harmful forces to your head. These are then integrated within the MIPS™ Integra impact protection system.
What is MIPS?
The Proframe features an extra level of head protection via the MIPS Integra system. The Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) is a proven system that reduces the rotational forces on the brain when you're involved in a crash. The forces are absorbed and redirected to prevent them from being transmitted to the brain.
The Integra system is fully integrated into the helmet design, providing a safety solution that works in harmony with the liner and fit systems so as to keep bulk to a minimum and protection levels optimised.

Fit and Comfort
Safety may be the primary focus but Fox haven't cut any corners when it comes to comfort. In order to get a secure fit, vital for safety in crashes, and perfect riding comfort, Fox gives you the BOA® fit system. A simple twist of the BOA® dial lets you get the fit just right. A Fidlock® magnetic closure also makes it easy to pull your Proframe on and off.
Inside, the Ionic+ anti-microbial liner and cheek pads ensure a snug fit and are brilliant at dealing with sweat before discomfort sets in. Talking of which, the excellent ventilation and reduced skin-to-pad contact also optimise air circulation, leading to a greater cooling effect.
